Biography

I was born in a small town in Pennsylvania; the kind of small town where life was very simple. We had one television and one phone; we played outside and never worried about strangers. I still believe in these traditional family values: common courtesy, being respectful to your elders, smiling as you see someone crossing the street. My early experiences influenced me strongly when I came to San Diego and found (to my delight) a place where community really meant something. Aesthetic beauty was everywhere I looked from the ocean to the mountains; my senses soaked up this perfect environment and I knew San Diego would become my home.

While I was no stranger to photography, it wasn't until I moved here and was surrounded by the rich landscapes that I realized how inspired I was to share these moments of breathtaking beauty. I started taking photos regularly, and through the encouragement of my family and friends, started selling prints. Years later, I've taken more than twenty-four thousand photos in San Diego alone... and counting.

Photography takes me to another place. When I'm out in the environment, looking through my lens, I feel at one with nature and the world. I'm at peace. It makes me recognize how everything is in fact connected; you, me, the earth, the oceans, the air, everything. If I can share that, or even make someone smile by looking at one of my photos... that's all I ever need.
